Dear Son’Spot Family,
It has been a very fruitful season of ministry. We have just completed a daily ministry schedule that included meeting for Bible time, worship, and fellowship twice a day, boardwalk outreach most days, and outreach meals five days a week. There were 150 to 250 people at most meals. Many were drawn to the Lord. Our full time missionaries were a tremendous help and blessing, as were the weekly groups and several local individuals that co-labored with us. The reason for each of these activities was to lift up the name of Jesus, to share the Good News that God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to pay the price for our sin, that we can be forgiven and reconciled to God, that God has a plan for each of us, and that we can walk a life of victory with God. It is a great privilege and so rewarding to see God plant seeds, water seeds, grow the plants, and produce the harvest. Many people were born again during Bible time, outreach meals, and boardwalk outreach. Praise the Lord! To God be all the glory! Thank you for partnering with us.
Good News Reports
“A student from Moldova was questioning if salvation was needed for eternal life. As a very intelligent and polite young man, he had compared and was negatively affected by the different types of religions. From June 8 until the last English Club meeting on September 2 he questioned the need for personal salvation. One more opportunity was given to him through precise explanation of salvation through Jesus, using the words of Jesus to explain the need to personally surrender all his fears, doubts, and negative outlooks on ‘religion’. He then realized that he actually believed ‘God Is’, that Jesus is God’s son, and that he was a sinner in need of forgiveness. This young man then accepted Jesus to be his savior and Lord of his life. Patience and building a relationship for 13 weeks with the international students helps them to understand God’s love, forgiveness, and salvation for them.”
“There were many opportunities to share joy, Truth (Salvation), friendship, food, and sometimes even first aid to the people that God put before us this summer. At the dinner outreach this week we explained the difference between salvation and works to a student from Serbia. She then asked, ‘How can I be saved?’ She repented of her sins and was saved!”
“On the boardwalk a lady sat down next to me as I was holding the sign, “How Can We Pray For You”. She spoke of wanting to know what it meant by being a Christian. After we discussed personal ‘sins’, salvation, and forgiveness of sin, she confessed that she believed in God, that Jesus is God’s son, admitted she had sinned, asked for forgiveness, and declared that she wanted Jesus to be her Lord. She was saved.”
“A man with his wife and two children respectfully discussed with us the comparison of his religion verses a Christian’s view of Jesus. Was Jesus only a prophet or is Jesus God’s only begotten son and savior for all mankind? The man was challenged to read the words of the prophet himself, that Jesus said ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life’. The man graciously considered the challenge.”
“I’ve learned a lot this week. One thing that I’ve grown in is pushing myself out of my comfort zone when interacting with international students.”
“During this week, God has directed and strengthened me to talk with people that I did not know. I learned more about people in difficult circumstances. God gave the opportunity to talk with a homeless mother and daughter and the opportunity to talk about Jesus through a coloring book and children’s story book.”
“God challenged me to be more consistent in His Word on a daily basis. It’s been easy to let the cares of this life push that aside.”
“God gave me more of a heart and more compassion for the lost people who are all around me. He also showed me the importance of prayer and that I need to practice it more.”
“Jesus has made me gracious and He has made me realize reading my Bible is a blessing and not a chore. Jesus gave me the opportunity to share a verse and testimony, and have really good conversations with students. I also prayed for people on the boardwalk.”
“This week the Lord reminded me that my sins, which are many, are forgiven. He has set me free to love much. (Luke 7:47) This week the Lord used me to encourage some brothers from Romania and learn some of their language. (Matthew 25:35)”
“I was able to pray for two couples on the boardwalk and share scripture at dinner. I invited two international girls to stay for Bible Study and they did!”
“God helped me to step out of my comfort zone. I felt God helping me as I had to talk to others when inviting people to the dinner. I was also struggling to forgive someone who had hurt me. On Thursday during devotions I prayed hard to God to help me forgive that person. During the Bible Study several people shared about that exact topic and I was able to forgive them.”
“God changed my heart and perspective towards the international students and the ministry of love. God used me to share the Gospel with several students and have spiritual conversations with them.”
“God showed me that reading the Word is not optional but a necessity for Life in Christ and Godliness. He brought all this together for me so I could be here and share the Gospel with two Jordanians, a Turkish man, and two Romanian Orthodox Christians.”
“We are deeply grateful for what God has done through the Ocean City outreach over the past few days. Fifteen students have made clear decisions to follow Christ and several more are continuing to explore the Gospel through follow-up conversations. Beyond the meetings, God has worked powerfully though personal relationships. During small group discussions we had the opportunity to share the Gospel more personally, answer questions, and encourage students in their faith. The greatest encouragement has been hearing many students say that it was the genuine love and practical care shown that opened their hearts to the message of Christ. Their testimonies remind us that God uses all service to accomplish His work, whether welcoming, listening, feeding, or sharing the Gospel. We praise God for His faithfulness.”
“We come here to tell people about God’s love, and not just tell them but also showing them by feeding and helping them. This week is very special. It’s different from our weekly church worship. We live and work here and it feels like God is nearer to me than usual. We are a big family here, we love each other here, and we’ll see you next year!”
“God helped me to talk to people and have fun this week. He taught me more during Bible study.”
“Over the week, God changed my perspective on how I saw God. The Bible Studies made me feel more motivated to learn more about God and His son Jesus. I thank the people who keep this place a welcoming place for all.”
“When I came here I thought I was already perfect, but at the end of the week I knew I needed to repent.”
“This is my fourth time serving here and each time my heart grows more eager for God and more eager to know Him deeply. Especially this time, I truly believe that God wants to give me the most precious gift of all – Himself. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Jesus is my best friend.”
We praise the Lord and give him all the glory and honor for these testimonies.
Ministry Schedule
Our schedule from Labor Day to Memorial Day is Thursday and Saturday evenings at 7pm, and Sunday mornings at 10am for ministry, Bible, worship, prayer, and fellowship. Additionally, the outreach dinner ministry is Thursdays at 5pm. Each week food bags (with prayer opportunities) are delivered to various homes. Our desire is to lift up Jesus and to allow the Holy Spirit to manifest and minister as He desires. It is a wonderful thing to be in the presence of the Lord. To God be the glory for all that He has done.

Thank you for your prayerful and financial support of God’s work in Ocean City through this missionary outreach. Together we are being used by Him to share the Good News that God loves you, that He has a great plan for your life, and that plan starts by accepting Jesus as Lord.
